A Bit About Me.

Hi, my name is Colleen and I have been interested in working with wood since I was a child. This began in my dad’s implement shed in the late 1960s. It started with using a hacksaw (used for cutting steel) to construct wooden hedgehog cages and trolleys of which, when racing down the hill a wheel would suddenly appear ahead of me and I was suddenly stuck on the ground with three of the four wheels still attached. These skills were all self-taught as dad was a farmer and not a carpenter.

During my 20’s I started making toys for family and friends as a hobby. Over the years my artistic wood skills developed into making

bookends, jigsaw puzzles, trains, dolls cradles, trucks to name a few of my many products. This introduced me into selling my products at various craft fairs throughout New Zealand, such as, The Martinborough Fair, The Dunkleys Great New Zealand Craft Show, Woman’s Lifestyle Expo and Home Shows to mention a few..

As all things, I started with small toys, but this has now transformed into bigger products like the rocking motorbike, rocking horse and furniture for the little ones.

The piece that I am proudest of is the Noah’s Ark that I make.

My product range extends to making BBQ tables, Cape Cod chairs (adults and children).

The latest adventurous piece I have undertaken is a Mac truck and trailer. This includes all the intricate parts on the truck from wheels, horns, windscreen, bullbars and headlights. As with all Mac trucks the Bull-dog was included.

The range of products I make, or can make, is wide and varied and is still growing to this day. This can be from the usual child’s toys to the adult’s big toy trucks.

If you would like an item made, the usual or unusual, please look through the pictures and contact me.

Cheers
